How To: Swap your Liberty’s CD player with the New MP3 Player
March 25th, 2009In this latest installment to our “How To” section, we are going to tackle the task of changing out the built-in CD player in your Liberty 6000 series PA system for the new MP3-7500 mp3 player. The new MP3-7500 supports both WMA and MP3 audio files and offers a variety of inputs such as USB, SD card and an Axillary port for other external music player devices. The process is about 20 steps and depending on your technical skill level, it shouldn’t take longer then 15 to 20 minutes to complete. So lets get started.

The swap went well from CD player to the new MP3-7500. The unit works fine with the Auxiliary and USB inputs (Flashdrive). However, the SD Card input seems to have a problem… or else I’m not doing something right. It skips to the next track randomly after a few seconds. I’ve tried different cards with MP3 files sourced from different computers. Same results — it plays all the selections incompletely and randomly jumps from one to the next, as if sampling the tunes. It doesn’t matter if the unit is in “Repeat” or “All” mode. The display indicates correct track and time information. Is the SD Card reader locked in some particular mode? No combination of button pushing I’ve tried makes a difference. What’s up with this device? (No documentation came with this unit.)
Hi Frank, glad to hear the swap went fine but sorry you’re having trouble with the SD card input. I have our engineers looking into what might be causing this issue.
