Looking at buying an MPA4500 used and was wondering if that could be made into a battery powered unit by adding the batteries and charging unit like on the MPB4500? Doable?

  2. Karen says:

We have two Liberty sound systems, one a 6000 series and one a 4500 series. The 6000 went out and the backup, the 4500 is also dead. Was told it’s possibly the battery. Have the instructions, but need to know where locally (I’m in Gurnee IL) or online I get get the batteries for BOTH systems.
    Thanks!

  3. Hi, I’ve used my Anchor Liberty MPB 4500 for many years, but lately it seems fine when I set it up and test it but about an hour later the batteries appear to be dead. I imagine I will need to replace the batteries. Can you suggest an inexpensive way to do this? I’ve read the how to – pdf and watched the slide show. It’s a little intimidating but getting the right batteries seems to be the most important part. Can you help me? Thank you, Jeanne Thomas 415-242-1962

I am also interested in finding out your dealers to purchase batteries for my 4500 PA system.

    Thanks, Jane

My ele. school has a Liberty 4500. The blogs were helpful as to how to replace the batteries. My husband can do that. He is a technician. One other problem: whenever you touch the bass knob (turn it up or down) the unit clicks & shuts off. I can turn it right back on & it works fine as long as I do NOT touch that knob. Suggestions on how to fix this? Can we buy a new bass pot?
    Thanks,
    Pam

Does anyone have the schematic for the Anchor Liberty System with a build in CD player? I had to replace the batteries and wires got mixed and the system only ran on the battery until it ran down. It is not operating when pluged into an outlet and the green charging light does not light up at all. HELP! I need the system 6-12-10 for a Father’s Day Event in the downtown green space area of Football Hall of Fame City.

  8. Rolando says:

I have a Liberty 4500 that I removed the batteries to replace them and stupid me didn’t label were the wires go.

    Can someone help me please?

  9. Rolando says:

Please help!!! See my last post!

  10. Zeek Duff says:

    Hey Rolando,
Looks like you aren’t getting an answer, so perhaps following this link will help, it’s to a slide show demonstrating the whole battery changing process. You can see in the pictures how to replace the color-coded wiring. If that still doesn’t make it clear for you, there is a phone number at the end for tech support. I don’t own one of these, was just researching them and saw your query AND this: http://www.anchoraudio.com/blog/libslideshow.html

Hope that helps, and good luck!

I’M LOOKING FOR A RECHARGEABLE BATTERY COMPATIBLE WITH MY MEGAVOX
PB35W SYSTEM. EQUIVALENT BATTERY TO GASTON RECHARGEABLE BATTERY GT12V 4.2 Ah/20 hr. ALSO BATTERY CHARGER RC-16 OR EQUIVALENT. THANK YOU.

    Thanks!

  18. Tom says:

I bought a used MegaVox Pro at a garage sale for the secondary speaker and the Speaker stands ( they work great )
I called Anchor and a Rc-16 is $24 does anyone know the adapter info?
( e.g. 120VAC 60Hz and 6V 500mA ) I have a Radio Shack multi head but do not know what to set it to.

Or FUN survey question should I stop being a cheap-o and just drop the $24?

  19. louanng says:

Hi Tom- The charger Anchor Audio offers is the RC-6000. It puts out 19v dc 3.15 amps but it will work in substitute for the old charger RC-16. If you have a Radio Shack charger , it should be set to 18vac. 6 volts will never charge the battery.

  20. Merwynn says:

I have Anchor Liberty 4500, I hardly use it but when I’m use it for about 10-15min it just shuts off (Liberty is plugged via power cord). I can just turn back on with the switch and its fine and then it shuts off again. Please help.

  21. louanng says:

Hi Merwynn- It sounds like you may have an issue with the battery. Please contact Richard Araujo with our Technical Support department at richarda@anchoraudio.com and he can further assist you.

  22. louanng says:

The older Liberty product line requires that you charge the batteries at least cone every other month. The batteries must be kept charged to maintain good battery conditioning. Generally the batteries will lat 2-5 yr. I suspect you batteries are older than that. Our older Liberties use the AC cord to charge the batteries, so if the batteries are worn out the unit will power off on you. You may send it in for repair or review the attached directions to our battery replacement procedure and do it yourself. I you chose to send it in to us email you r shipping address and contact phone number and I we can set up a work order. We charge $ 85 labor and $ 156 for two batteries.

  23. James D. Dixon, III says:

Need help!! My 6000 w/CD player when using ac – only using battery power and the green light not working – any ideas for this problem??

  24. louanng says:

Hi James- It sounds like you may have a power supply issue. Please contact Richard with Anchor’s Technical Support Department and he can help troubleshoot the issue. Just have the serial number available…. richarda@anchoraudio.com
