Anchor Audio’s move is transitioning very nicely and is right on track! The new factory located in the Carlsbad Science Research Center is preparing transport for all manufacturing machines, products, and shipping materials. The factory will be fully functional on September 20^th.

FCC Regulations 2009

On November 14, 2008, the FCC released the full text of its Second Report and Order approving the use of the “white spaces” – the TV channels that are not actually occupied by a broadcast station – to deliver wireless broadband internet and other services to consumer wireless devices. The 130-page document provides details of the technical, operational, and regulatory requirements that white space devices will be subject to, including the protections aimed at safeguarding wireless microphones from interference.

Here is a statement pertinent to the operation of Anchor wireless products:

• Wireless microphones and personal monitors may continue to operate in the UHF television band between TV channels 14-51 (470-698 MHz), and in the VHF television band between TV channels 7-13 (174-216 MHz).

Therefore:

Anchor Audio wireless products operate in the UHF band 682 – 698 MHz and are NOT impacted by recent FCC “white spaces” regulatory requirements.

April 5, 2010 Update

ProLink™ operates in the license free US ISM band 902-928 MHz under Part 15 of FCC regulations.

Anchor Audio visits Camp Pendelton

Anchor Audio recenty visited Camp Pendelton to search for product ideas, and see what they thought of Anchor’s products. In driving by the base you get a sense for how big it is, but it isn’t until you are on the base grounds that you realize it is a city in itself. They have their own bowling alley, pizza hut, police & fire dept., and a lot of toys. Currently they are investing about $8 billion dollars to build a new hospital, and revamp a bunch of already existing complexes. The people that we met with on the base that use our equipment had nothing but positive compliments, and were very impressed by the reliability and quality. Most notably the AN-Mini which they claimed to use for a setting with 1,500 people! Overall, it was a very good trip even though my request to drive the tank was denied…oh well.

The FCC finally dropped the other proverbial shoe during the 2010 Winter NAMM show when it issued an Order and Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking prohibiting sales of wireless microphone and monitoring systems that operate in the 700 MHz frequency band, and kicking existing ones out by June 12 of this year…..more
